like the recitations of a play

no one remembers the meaning of

a piece of history

that we just take for granted and accept

at one point this meant something

to someone, to anyone

and maybe the dreamer remembers

is just glad that someone wrote it down

we didn’t let time wash away your work

that you let wash away your life

Twenty thousand breaths
Between here and
Endless Summer
Nights
And the air is electric
like
High tension power lines
Whipping in the wind like
Ropes,
like
Licorice
Delivering energy
To everyone
Free of charge.
