Open the gates that the righteous nation may enter, the nation that keeps faith.

Isaiah   26:2

The sun was rising slowly, unstoppable like our advances over the slopes and dust. It brought light over the horizon in a broad, sweeping gesture just as our Crusade was to cleanse the land. With swords shimmering and reflecting God’s will, we descended upon the Holy Land. Our feet kicked up sand for miles in every direction, and had begun to block out the sun on our approach.

The horses were saddled down with years worth of weapons, water, and supplies for our trek through the desert. We walked them for hundreds of miles, allowing them rest and water only at the end of the day when the army would settle for respite. We rained arrows and spilled blood across the desert for decades, and knew one day that the land would be cleansed.

God was on our side.

The tank tracks led backwards further than the eye could see, splitting their way across the sand on an inevitable path deeper into the Holy Land, leaving the fires of the righteous in their wake. Bullet casings buried the heathens, and the dust became bloody mud. Fires dotted the landscape, left to smolder as we continued onward.

Vapor trails from aircraft criss-crossed over the cloudless sky, raining purifying flames. Remote-controlled drones patrolled without rest over the landscape, seeking out targets on 24 by 7 shifts worked by God’s Chosen 7000 miles away. Quick clean up squads dropped in on flaming city blocks to purge anything left behind, and still we pushed deeper.

God was on our side.

The sun was rising slowly, unstoppable like the Word of God. With assault weapons shimmering and reflecting God’s will, we descended upon the Holy Land again.
