It was a slow wind
we were caught in,
the palms blurred
and swam in the heat.
Thai Town-East Hollywood
with a down in the knees
afternoon drunk on.
the girl is so young
she thinks this is something,
really something

We had a Dinosaur Egg
at East’s on Hollywood Boulevard
(tuna stuffed in an avocado shell)
and some Chinese beer from
Qingdao’s south shore.
the girl’s eyes were fraught
full of azure
and smoking skulls
watching the ocean
pass overhead on opium clouds
