every day
must
be sure not to
memorize
that fight we had
plus I have to
stop repeating

but I will
do some homework
like sweeping
up my judgments
and
generalizations
under the table
and all those
pop quiz
confusions
that test
my patience
I am playing
hooky
and refusing
to read
into anything
today
it’s
no shirt
no tie
and
definitely
no footnotes
