[submission guidelines]

  • amphibi.us takes First Electronic Publishing Rights to any new piece that is featured here first. We also retain rights to archive indefinitely. That’s not to say that if you request a piece be taken down, we won’t honor that. Pieces appearing in amphibi.us online are eligible to be selected for print collections. We will contact you if we want to use your work.
  • amphibi.us is a non-paying market. This site costs money, but does not make any.
  • Multiple, simultaneous, and previously published submissions are fine. We would rather share worthwhile work than worry over whether we can brag that it only appears here. It is unnecessary to inform us if a simultaneous submission is accepted by another publication unless they do not allow previously published works, in which case simply inform us if you need to withdraw a submission.
  • Currently author bio’s, laundry lists of previous publications, and headshots are not used. However, mp3 recordings of you reading your piece would be great, we would love to hear them.
  • Submissions in the body of an e-mail, or in .doc format only will be accepted. If you submit a piece that has odd formatting, we recommend you submit it as a .doc attachment so we do not have to request one again later.
  • Please limit submissions to around 1000 words in the case of poetry/prose, and 2000 words for flash fiction/short stories. Exceptions will of course be made but please do not send an excessive amount at any one time.
  • As a general rule, amphibi.us is not interested in rhyming poetry, epics, things that read better as pop lyrics, or Twilight fan-fiction. As a courtesy, please take a look around to get a rough idea of what we are looking for prior to your submission.
  • Response time is typically 2-3 weeks. Please query no earlier than 2 weeks after your original submission, but know that we personally respond to every submission we receive.
  • Proof read. We retain the right to fix small typos and grammatical problems, without editing the integrity of a piece, but we do not like to do so.
  • amphibi.us is listed at duotrope’s digest here. Please help us out by reporting your responses.

  • Please make sure to to become a fan of our facebook page and follow us on twitter as well so we can help hype your work.
